Social Expectations:

  • How much of its day will this pup be with people?  What kind of social interaction will the pup experience in its life with you?  Would you attend many public events with your dog, have a lot of visitors in the home etc...

 

  • Do you work outside the home?How much time will the pup be by himself?

 

  • Where would the pup spend the majority of its daytime?(house, outside - yard, pen etc....)Bedtime?

  • Think about the atmosphere of your home and please describe a typical day in your family.Is it calm and quiet?  Active and noisy?  Proper placement of a pup centers on what your home is really like.  You want a pup that would adapt and fit in with your style of living.


  • How consistent a dog trainer are you?  Would you be attending classes with your pup?

Character Expectations:

  • Do you desire a more independent, aloof personality or dependent, attention oriented dog?  Do you like a challenge or do you like a dog that responds easily to your commands?  A stronger more dominant pup may be more of a challenge than one that is in the middle to low end of the pack order.

Physical Expectations:

  • Do you have a preference in terms of sex and/or color?  How set are you in these preferences?  We prefer to place pups first based on temperament or personality, but if all things are equal, sex and color will be considered.

 

  • What size dog do you prefer and why? Size sometimes determines what type of work at which a dog will excel.

 

  • Do you plan to spay/neuter this pup?  Would you be open to leaving your dog intact for possible breeding later?
